Ascension Saint Joseph-Joliet

A new Hybrid Cath Lab was located on the 4th floor of space previously occupied by the CVOR ICU. Four columns are in the new HCL. We worked closely with the medical staff, Siemens, and Stryker to design the HCL efficiently around the columns. A low floor to floor ceiling height was resolved by the use of a pre-fabricated ceiling array system. The area of work is over the existing 3rd Floor Sterile Storage which required close coordination with the hospital staff to temporarily relocate a portion of Sterile Storage to allow for underfloor infrastructure work. The Scope of Work also included a new rooftop AHU/Chiller on a new steel platform, expansion of existing space in the Penthouse above for mechanical equipment related to the HCL, and upgrades to the existing building envelope (new rooftop, window infills, masonry repairs, and continuous spray on insulation at perimeter walls) in the area of work
